A holiday farm in the Tuscan hills - Palazzo Massaini
The Palazzo Massaini holiday farm is set amongst the hills around Siena, in the Tuscan countryside
The property includes 308 hectares of well-maintained land, used to grow vines and olives in the hilly areas and cereal crops on the valley floor. It also includes two charming farmhouses, surrounded by the magnificent Sienese hills between Pienza and Montepulciano. In 2004, this area of Tuscany was designated a UNESCO Heritage of Humanity site.
The evergreen copses, a distinguishing feature of the region, conceal a large clearing with an area of approximately 20 hectares, used to breed dappled deer, and a lake teeming with fish; guests may visit both areas in the company of a guide.
Wild flora and fauna thrives here: it is not unusual to come across hares, pheasants, wolves, hedgehogs, deer and wild boars along the woodland paths and cross-country trails which lead ramblers between vineyards and olive groves.
